A Moment To Remember : A Movie Review

“When the memory is gone so is the soul.”

How do you measure a man's love? Is it the number of times he said I love you or the way he treats you out to fancy restaurants? No. Love is all about commitment, patience and sacrifice. And this is what this movie is all about. A story that would teach us how genuine and pure ones love and affection could be. It’s all about loving someone unconditionally despite all the adversaries that would come along the way. It’s all about unselfish love.

Meet the Princess and the Beggar. That’s how Chul-soo described his relationship with Sul-jin. Despite their differences they were able to prove that love would work for them and it did.  A Moment to Remember would give you a rollercoaster of emotions. You’ll start with anticipation as Sul-jin worked her way to getting Chul-soo’s attention and she was successful indeed. And that one sip of sojo, that changed their destiny. Then there’s bliss as they would go through their married life. It’s just filled with love, success and contentment. Then there’s pain as they face the tragic and cruel reality of Alzheimer’s disease. 

“Forgiving is just giving hate a little room in your heart.”

I love the chemistry between the two lead characters Ye-Jin and Woo-Sung. Though the movie was lengthy it was well paced making sure that each emotion is in its proper place until you get to the climax. Next thing you’ll know your heart is breaking and your eyes would be flooded. The script was well written and the director was indeed able to successfully project the type of emotion that this movie intends to do. 

I have seen this movie twice and I cried harder the second time. It’s refreshing and heartbreaking all at the same. Call me a hopeless romantic but if I find this kind of love in this lifetime then one lifetime spent with that person is more than enough.

Werewolf Boy : A Movie Review

Love was the first human language he'd ever learned. - A Werewolf Boy


This is not your typical love story. This korean fantasy romance film would relate to the cruel reality for us mortals. It would remind us of Hatchicko and the length of time the dog endured waiting for his master to comeback.

It's well-written, well paced and the effects were impressive as well. The plot depicting their true friendship, sincerity and loyalty just blew me off. And I like the part that the director didn't dwell on outside element like their family finding out about them and just focused on the werewolf boy and the young lady's relationship.

Both actors Song Joong Ki and Park Bo-Young showed good chemistry and were really superb onscreen. I would like to commend Song Joong Ki for the perfect portrayal of the role. With just very few speaking lines, he nailed the role of being the werewolf boy with his strong and powerful emotions, his eyes and facial expressions. And Park Bo-young was equally great! Both actors made me cry!

The last part just broke my heart. Handing the letter and showing her the mended guitar. Then bowing down to have his head touched confirming that he did well just brought me to tears.

"No, It's the same hands, mouth, eyes. You're still beautiful. So much. I'm missing you so much."
